Perhaps not "global", but it sure seems to be pretty much the entire Western world by now. The US was the first to lose its sedans, but over here in Europe the cars are rapidly expanding as well.

Are we sure that's still happening? It definitely did happen, but anecdotally the SUVs I see on the road seem to be shrinking slightly, from mid and full size SUVs to compact and subcompact SUVs. Not down to Sedans, but not as big as 10 years ago. Maybe my location is weird though.

Personally would never buy an SUV. Don't think I'm the only one even if that market still has some room to grow.

I'm with you, but there's a bit of an arms race where the more people have SUVs, the more unsafe people in non-SUVs feel (due to collision characteristics, but also because they can't see past the damn things).

cars WERE expanding. the reason for this were the road-tax cuts for EVs. Now that this is over, people start thinking again and we see a big shift towards sedans and cars like that.

And these companies are old, they were leading in chainging the world.

Apple let them build in china from students and others for very little money with very high margin.

This is the biggest problem with those cheap network interfaces in tvs. They dont have any form of usable buffer, so a spike instantly creates problems.

using an usb network dongle (or if your setup is good enough wifi, but this is very unstable)

Also, most tv's are not able to push the full 100Mbps over their network interface.

Will TVs stream UHD Blu-Ray rips off the network anyway? I guess modern TVs all have H.265 decoders now, so there’s no reason they couldn’t as long as the network interface is quick enough and they know how to handle common video containers.

TVs will stream some. Exactly because the network cards are horrible without buffers etc. But yeah, remuxes (uncompressed copies of UHD) are pretty common and people that want the best quality use them. Also, kaleidescape highest quality options are as big or bigger than UHD rips.
