I have only a passing interest in this but, basically, different oil fields have different percentages of different weight hydrocarbons. The oil can be refined with catalytic cracking to make more gas / kerosene / whatever. As I understand it, we're using "lighter" oil and we're focusing on making gas, so the percentage diesel in the crack spread is lower. So, there's less diesel coming out of the refineries.
This started, I believe when fracking became a major thing (the late 2000s), because shale oils tends to have less heavy hydrocarbons then the old wells.
As an American citizen, I find it completely unacceptable that the US will pay $300B to rebuild a foreign country when it doesn't have funds for food and healthcare benefits for its deserving citizens. Moreover, for the longest time, Trump criticized Obama for giving $1.7B to Iran, and now he wants to give so much more.
Honestly I think that's "Trump's win", and is probably all he cares about. Now he gets to funnel all these reconstruction contracts to his buddies, prioritizing anyone who gives him a "donation".
Honestly, Executive Orders in general are dysfunctional cludge. I feel less bad about things like DACA, since that's trying to fix something broken instead of wrecking things for no useful reason (or acting to puff up a sick ego) ... but hell no, that should have been a proper law.
Are we both blocking Google ads and scrolling past the AI summary?
Their business practices are just the worst. But are the first 10 blue links they show you usually bad? (Like you know that one of those 10 should be the exact thing you want, so you decide to rely on another search engine instead, & the alternative search succeeds where Google failed)
Have read this comment before multiple times, even a year or two ago. Hence my “unreasonable” demand for screenshots if someone has the minutes to script it. - Hmm, really should be a live site to track over time... Can make that and Show [Three People On] HN!
(Google could give better results to those unloyal to them, as one example, so testing needed! We could be getting wildly different results or just have starkly different usage tendencies, there’s just no way I could disagree with so many of y’all on something this basic assuming no DDG astroturfing or anything unless we’re looking at things differently one way or another)
Waiting for your screenshots. Do the legwork yourself first.
And obviously there is no astroturfing here from DDG. That you could have seen from a tiny look at my profile. I have a pretty public persona on the internet.
eBay isn't doing itself any favors these days, the site seems to have issues on a regular basis and they're heavily promoting collectible/gambling garbage on the site. If anything eBay and GameStop seem perfect for each other.
There's tons of stuff I wanted or needed that was easiest to find on eBay. And I also sold old things there. Idk idc what the market for anime trading cards looks like.
"We shall trust 27 different sets of 3 to 10 guys in garages and ensure they never become large enough to blackmail a large percentage of the world's governments safe in the knowledge we can in fact arrest them for illegal bs" does have an appeal however.
